Get SAFE – Position Statement

Restoring Human Agency in the Age of AI

Get SAFE exists for one reason:

To restore human agency for individuals affected by financial harm.

When people experience financial exploitation, fraud, or institutional failure, they are not just financially impacted — they are often left confused, overwhelmed, and unable to think clearly or act effectively.

At the same time, the systems they must engage with — financial institutions, complaint processes, ombudsman services — are structured, procedural, and often complex.

This creates a profound imbalance.

The Problem We Address

Most individuals are expected to:

  • understand complex financial situations

  • interpret formal communications

  • organise evidence

  • articulate their position clearly

…often while under stress, without support, and without the tools to do so.

Meanwhile, institutions operate with:

  • structured processes

  • technical expertise

  • access to advanced tools and systems

Get SAFE exists to close this capability gap.

What We Do

Get SAFE provides education, guidance, and practical training to help individuals:

  • think clearly under pressure

  • organise their situation and evidence

  • interpret communications they receive

  • express themselves coherently and confidently

We do this by showing people how to use widely available tools such as:

  • ChatGPT/ Claude/ etc

  • Notion

These tools act as a “second brain” — helping individuals structure their thinking, not replacing it.

Our Approach

Our approach is grounded in one principle:

The individual remains in control at all times.

We do not provide templates. We do not take over cases. We do not act on anyone’s behalf.

Instead, we:

  • teach individuals how to ask better questions

  • show them how to explore their own situation using AI

  • support them in organising their thoughts and information

  • help them develop the confidence to act independently

Any outputs generated through tools are:

  • created by the individual

  • reviewed by the individual

  • used at the individual’s discretion

What We Do Not Do

To maintain clarity and integrity, Get SAFE operates within clear boundaries.

We do not:

  • provide legal advice

  • provide regulated financial advice

  • act as representatives or intermediaries

  • contact institutions on behalf of individuals

  • determine or direct the outcome of any dispute

  • guarantee or influence outcomes

All decisions, actions, and communications remain the responsibility of the individual.

AI as a Tool for Fairness

Artificial Intelligence is a general-purpose tool, now widely available to the public.

Get SAFE supports individuals in learning how to use such tools responsibly to:

  • interpret information

  • organise their situation

  • express their perspective clearly

This is no different in principle from using:

  • a calculator

  • a search engine

  • a word processor

Our role is to improve capability — not to control outcomes.

Our Position on Fairness

We believe:

Access to tools that support clear thinking and communication is a matter of fairness.

Institutions already benefit from:

  • structured processes

  • professional expertise

  • access to technology

Individuals should not be expected to engage with these systems without support.

Get SAFE helps restore balance by ensuring individuals can:

  • understand what is happening

  • organise their position

  • communicate effectively

How We Fit Within the Wider System

Get SAFE is not a replacement for:

  • ombudsman services

  • legal advice

  • regulatory bodies

  • consumer advocacy organisations

Instead, we operate before and alongside these systems.

We help individuals become ready to engage with them.

Our Commitment

We are committed to:

  • maintaining clear ethical and operational boundaries

  • empowering individuals without taking control away from them

  • promoting responsible and transparent use of AI

  • supporting fairness, clarity, and human dignity in all interactions

In Summary

Get SAFE does not fight battles on behalf of individuals.

We help individuals find their footing, regain their voice, and stand on their own terms.

In a world where systems are complex and power is often unevenly distributed:

Human agency matters — and we exist to restore it.
