Private Positioning NoteGet SAFE – Regulatory Independence & Public Appointments

This note clarifies Get SAFE’s stance when senior figures move between major financial institutions and regulatory roles.

It is for internal alignment and consistency of message.

1️⃣ Our Core Position

Get SAFE is not a political campaign.

We do not comment on party politics, personalities, or policy agendas.

Our focus is singular:

Citizens’ rights, structural fairness, and access to justice.

When appointments raise questions about regulatory independence, our concern is not who is appointed.

It is whether the system visibly protects the public interest.

2️⃣ Why Regulatory Independence Matters to Our Community

The people who come to Get SAFE are often:

  • Victims of misconduct

  • Affected by regulatory delay or failure

  • Disillusioned with oversight mechanisms

  • Confused about where accountability sits

For them, confidence in regulators is not abstract. It is deeply personal.

Perceived regulatory capture — whether real or not — erodes trust.

And when trust erodes, citizens disengage or become hostile toward institutions.

Neither outcome serves stability.

3️⃣ Our Framing Principles

When commenting (if at all), we anchor to:

Structural Safeguards

Cooling-off periods, recusal policies, disclosure requirements, and transparency mechanisms are essential in any system where movement between industry and regulator occurs.

Institutional Strength

Experience from industry can enhance supervision — but only when guardrails are strong and visible.

Citizen Confidence

The real test of any appointment is whether public trust increases or decreases.

Resilience Before Growth

Economic growth is sustainable only when regulatory foundations remain robust.

4️⃣ What We Avoid

We will not:

  • Attack individuals

  • Speculate about motives

  • Engage in partisan debate

  • Frame matters as conspiracy

Get SAFE exists to steady people, not inflame discourse.

5️⃣ When We Speak

If we comment publicly, our language will be calm and principled:

  • Focused on transparency and independence

  • Framed around citizen protection

  • Structured around governance design

  • Non-accusatory

If we cannot speak in that tone, we remain silent.

Silence, when chosen deliberately, protects credibility.

6️⃣ Our Long-Term Position

Get SAFE’s authority rests on being:

  • Measured

  • Constructive

  • Evidence-based

  • Focused on system improvement

We believe strong institutions and strong citizen protections are not opposites.

They rise and fall together.

Our role is not to fight the system.

It is to strengthen the conditions under which it serves the public fairly.
